Uddalaka (Beginners) Session Report (29.8.26)

In the indoor Patterns Lab session, the children engaged with two puzzles designed to stimulate their analytical thinking — one centered around shapes and the other around numbers. Both puzzles turned out to be moderately challenging for the young participants and required more time than initially expected to work through. Despite the difficulty, the children made a commendable effort, staying engaged with the tasks and attempting to reason their way through the patterns presented to them. Their persistence, even in the face of tricky problems, reflected a genuine willingness to learn and explore new concepts.

The outdoor component of the session, however, did not go as smoothly as planned. Heavy rainfall disrupted the scheduled outdoor activity, posing a challenge for the day's itinerary. When the group, comprising both the children and accompanying adults, arrived at Rabindra Sarobar, the weather conditions had left the ground muddy and difficult to navigate safely for the young ones. As a result, the task of collecting leaves, which was originally intended to be a hands-on activity for the children, had to be carried out by the adults instead. This adjustment ensured that the children remained safe and avoided any risk of slipping or getting hurt on the wet, muddy terrain, while still allowing the leaf collection component of the session to be completed successfully. The adults' involvement in this instance highlighted the flexibility required in conducting outdoor educational activities, particularly when weather conditions are unpredictable and safety considerations must take precedence over the original plan.
