The session opened with the Literacy module, in which all learners were assessed using a structured oral and written reading tool to determine their current levels, which were duly recorded in the assessment tick sheet. The group responded to the activity with genuine enthusiasm, and the facilitators noted that every learner showed a willingness to participate and try their best — a promising sign for the weeks of instruction that lie ahead.

The Numeracy module followed a similar format, with learners assessed on their arithmetic competencies and results recorded systematically. The group performed notably well in this module, with many demonstrating stronger comfort with number-based tasks than with the reading activities encountered earlier. This pattern offers a useful baseline for planning differentiated instruction going forward.
In the Digital Literacy module, the group practised their typing speed, and the results were encouraging — all learners demonstrated a solid command of the keyboard, with typing speeds that gave the facilitators confidence in building more complex digital tasks in subsequent sessions.
The session concluded with the weekly embroidery class, during which learners worked on jewellery-making and embroidered designs on handkerchiefs. A particularly heartening moment came when the newest members of the group completed their first full motif independently, without requiring any assistance.

Looking ahead, the coming week will shift from assessment to active teaching, allowing facilitators to begin targeted instruction tailored to the learning levels established today.
