Kankinara Faculty Training Report (30th August, 2026)

Week 19 of the Hundred Miles Project asked learners to draw together several strands of the programme in this stage's assessment paper, while the hands-on session focused on consolidating stitch work already assigned by the instructor rather than introducing anything new. In the Literacy module, participants read a passage describing how the programme was built on the idea that learning and teaching reinforce each other, and that participants are themselves teachers and role models in their communities; learners then wrote a longer paragraph reflecting on what the programme had taught them and how it had changed them.

The Numeracy section built on embroidery output data, asking learners to calculate average weekly growth, project total pieces and earnings across several weeks, work out a percentage improvement, and find net earnings after deducting a fractional thread cost, all set out in a small productivity table. Digital Literacy asked for real mastery of accumulated skills, with learners writing a short digital journal summarising their learning journey, finding an online resource to keep using after the programme, and teaching a digital skill to someone at home, followed by a reflective comparison of who they were digitally at the start versus now. This digital section proved considerably harder than in previous weeks, with several learners struggling to complete the longer writing and multi-step tasks independently, and facilitators noted this as an area needing extra support. The hands-on session, by contrast, went smoothly, with learners steadily reinforcing the stitches already taught rather than facing new material. Next week's session should revisit the digital tasks that proved difficult before moving forward.
