Tell us about yourself.

Hello! I am Sayantani Ghosh, a B.Sc.(Hons.) graduate in Mathematics from Ranaghat College under the aegis of Kalyani University. I recently cracked the RKMVERI entrance exam for M.Sc. in Mathematics.

Other than Math, I like to read and solve sudoku. Numbers have always fascinated me and Mathematics gives me joy incomparable to anything else. I am eager to embark on the journey of learning and exploring Mathematics.

How did you prepare for the RKMVERI M.Sc Math Entrance?

I practiced problems regularly and attended classes without a miss. I spent a lot of time thinking about the topics I learnt and unsolved problems.

Can you suggest some resources (books, YouTube channels and websites) that had helped you in your preparation?

Books that helped me:

1. Linear Algebra - Sheldon Axler, Friedberg Insel and Spence
2.Abstract Algebra - Fraleigh
3. Real Analysis - Bartle and Sherbert, Ajit Kumar and S. Kumaresan
4. Multivariate Calculus - Marsden, Weinstein, Tromba

What are you planning next?

I am joining RKMVERI, Belur and my focus is on my Master's degree.

Any advice for the current aspirants?

Being patient and having perseverance can be helpful for appearing in exams of these standard.

Even if the outcome of the first few exams that you appear for are not upto your expectations, have faith in yourself and look forward to the next one.
